APSF Exhibit at ASA Shows Real Gas Pipeline Problems

“Look … Beyond the Walls” is the title of the APSF exhibit dramatically illustrating real-life examples of the multitude of problems that can occur (usually unnoticed until life-threatening) with medical gas pipelines. The extremely popular exhibit attracted interest from diverse audiences, most of whom were unaware of the many possible faults that can cause patient danger due to the gas piping systems. Left: Crossed oxygen and nitrous oxide pipelines removed from an actual installation. Middle: Liquid and chemical contaminants recovered from medical compressed air pipelines. Right: Particulate contaminants from oxygen pipelines. This comprehensive APSF exhibit is scheduled to appear at other anesthesiology meetings.
