The soft-cover book Anesthesia Patient Safety, A Modern History: Selections from the APSF Newsletter is now available from the APSF. The title might be misleading since some of the “history” is as recent as 1993. The book consists of the substantive articles that were published in the APSF Newsletter during its first eight years, inclusively 1986-1993. Beginning in 1994, the major lead articles from the Newsletter have been reprinted (and indexed) in the Journal of Clinical Monitoring. The 1986-93 reprint book, in addition to being a readily available and indexed compilation of articles from the Newsletter, provides a single source of information that is in a format which is easily referenced. Prior to this volume, the early Newsletter articles were not indexed and it was more difficult to find and cite specific references.
The book went on sale in October during the ASA annual meeting at the APSF Booth in the Exhibit Hall. The supply available for sale there was exhausted on the second day of the meeting.
