Richard D. Urman, MD, MBA, FASA is the Jay J. Jacoby Professor & Chair at The Ohio State University and Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio and Anesthesiologist-In-Chief. Urman’s research interests are in patient safety, novel anesthetic drugs, opioid safety, and shared decision making. He has received funding from the NIH, AHRQ, NSF, APSF and FAER. He has lectured nationally and internationally. He Chairs the ASA Abstract Subcommittee on Patient Safety and Practice Management and co-Chairs the APSF Grant Alumni Academy.
