The Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF) are excited to announce their collaboration on a groundbreaking defibrillator simulator for anesthesia professionals. This innovative tool will enhance life support training and will be a core educational content offering on the APSF’s Technology Education Initiative portal.
Dr. Michael Kazior, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System, is the course director who recognized the lack of defibrillator training opportunities for anesthesiologists and other ACLS providers, both within VA and at external hospital systems. The educational simulation is being developed by the Center for Safety, Simulation and Advanced Learning Technologies (CSSALT) at the University of Florida.
The defibrillator simulator aims to improve the skills and confidence of healthcare professionals in emergency situations, ultimately enhancing patient safety and outcomes.
