Welcome to the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation Policy and Guidelines for online article comments. The APSF is dedicated to providing a respectful and safe forum for our community members to have meaningful conversations about perioperative patient safety and upholding our vision that “No one shall be harmed by anesthesia care.”

In order to achieve this goal, we have established the following guidelines for participation:

  • Keep the conversation respectful and avoid personal attacks, divisive speech, name-calling, inflammatory comments, obscene language, hate speech or any other forms of aggression. These will not be tolerated and will be withheld or deleted.
  • Stay on topic. Posts unrelated to the article or current discussion may be removed
  • DO NOT:
    • Share personal information or sensitive information about others. This includes any HIPAA—or patient-identifying material.
    • Post illegal or copyrighted content.
    • Post threatening or harassing messages.
    • Post any self-promoting material—personal, business, academic, etc.
    • Engage in trolling or posting inflammatory comments for the sole purpose of causing disruption.
  • Links that are not relevant to the comment are not allowed.

By participating in these comments, you agree to abide by these guidelines. IF you see a post that violates these rules, please report it to the moderator. We reserve the right to remove any post that we deem in violation of these guidelines, and to ban comments and users that repeatedly violate these rules.

We hope that you will find this new comment application helpful, engaging, and moreover supportive in the mission to improve perioperative patient safety and care. Thank you for helping to create a respectful and welcoming community!
